Sorry, these guns can't be fixed and made reliable.

If you are a Star Trek fan, remember what Scotty said when he sabotaged the Excelsior. "The more they over think the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain."

It was an exercise in futile complexity. It was also the first attempt by Sig, in conjunction with Mauser to make a striker fired pistol. They had the recoil spring working in opposition to the striker spring working in opposition to a striker rebound spring. Along with a striker pin that has another spring around it and a sliding collar and cross pin. As soon as the springs take a set or break in, the gun will not function feed or fire.

Sig's stance is it is not a genuine Sig Sauer or SigArms product and won't stand behind it, and of course Mauser won't claim it.

I wish they had known what they were doing, or gave it more R& D before selling them or would just stand behind it and fix the thing. It was the most accurate .45 I ever fired.

Typical German/Swiss over-engineering then...and yes, they should stand behind it.

Accuracy don't mean shiite if it don't work.

I will not sell a POS as a working gun and pass on a defect to an unsuspecting buyer that may risk his life on it. I removed the striker/firing assembly, broke the rest down into slide and barrel top end group, then frame group and pair of magazines as three separate parts auctions and one guy bought all of it, knowing that the entire striker mechanism will have to be replaced and that the gun had serious issues. I got $230 for the parts, shipped. Almost half what I had in it. And that will pay off the balance on my XD 45 with some cash left over for the Holiday.

Scotty: "I know this ship like the back of my hand." Thunk. Splat.

I am a fan but I sure get tired of stupid directors and producers. Like when they were going to Rura Penthe to rescue Kirk and McCoy, and Uhura had to use a print out to translate Klingon so they could get past the security outpost, remember? Did all of them go brain dead and forget that she was supposed to be a master linquist and routinely broke and translated Klingon and Romulan security codes and transmissions for fun.

And Trek IV was a half assed remake of Trek I, just filed off the serial numbers, a fresh coat of paint and a Save The Whales message added in and ran it by us again.

I'm a fan, but sometimes a frustrated fan when they let non trek people write script, direct and produce what they don't know anything about.

Beam me up Scotty, there is no intelligent life in Hollywood.
